Two Year Olds

Two year old children playing kitchen in daycare. Our two-year-old preschool children are surrounded by a warm environment that is rich in multi-intelligent opportunities. The Learn Every Day Two-Year-Old Curriculum is designed to spark each child’s natural curiosity.

Our teachers have been trained to recognize and meet the needs of an egocentric two-year-old. Each lesson plan recognizes the unique nature and learning style of these older toddlers. Teacher-directed activities during circle time are balanced with the child’s choice of activities throughout the day.

Encouraging boundaries, sharing with friends, and listening to simple directions lay the foundation for a two-year-old’s journey to educational excellence. Instilling a lifetime love of learning continues to form.

STREAM: Relationships are essential for infants and toddlers to foster social, emotional, physical, and brain development. As a two-year old moves from toddlerhood into a more independent world, relationships begin to include verbal expression, making needs and wants known, and enjoying new experiences “all by myself.”

Artist In Residence: Each day is filled with creative art, music, and imaginative play. Music is a wonderful part of each day’s adventure. Special “dance moves” come alive with colorful scarves, whirling and twirling, with our older toddlers jumping, marching, or tiptoeing with boundless energy.

Kindness Counts: Of the seven pillars of character, trustworthiness is the first principal presented in every class. Trust must be earned by children and modeled by staff. Caring and empathy are introduced as part of guiding our young friends to be gentle with each other and continues to be interwoven into each day of our two-year old’s activities. A new value is introduced during the course of the year. Responsibility is the act of being in control or taking control. Tantrums and the power of “NO” can cause a delay in social and emotional growth, interfering with future academic and interpersonal success. As Early Childhood Specialists, our responsibility is to guide young children toward positive actions and outcomes. Helping during clean- up time, following simple rules, or learning to put your own blanket in your cubby gives very young children a positive feeling of control and belonging to their peer-group.

Your two-year-old takes great pride in being a treasured member of the classroom, while our Early Childhood Specialist is laying the foundation for responsible individuals, by continuing to embed self-confidence in your little one.
