Health and Wellbeing

Hand ‘N Hand is dedicated to the health and well-being of our early learning community. We recognize the American Pediatric Association and John Hopkins Research Medical Center as expert medical advisors to seek up-to-date medical information concerning young children.

Health

Hand ‘N Hand is one of a few early learning centers to upgrade their ventilation air system as COVID-19 invaded our country.  The Air Oasis UV filtration system includes coverage for over 14,000 square feet of purified air, providing ample coverage for our 11,000 square foot facility.  Research has shown various bacteria respond to ultraviolet light.  While we make no promise the current pandemic virus may be killed by our Air Oasis UV system, we are confident our indoor air quality will provide a superior health environment for all.

Notifying families of any childhood diseases that may be at a high risk in our community will be posted through our communication system.  For example, should RSV be more prevalent than usual, you will be notified of the disease, given the symptoms, and suggested medical instructions, such as contacting your pediatrician.

Should your child have need for special attention to health issues, Hand ‘N Hand will require a “Plan of Care” from your child’s attending physician or therapist. This will be discussed individually with each family during the enrollment process.

Well-being

Hand ‘N Hand Child Enrichment Center takes great pride in making each family feel secure and confident their children are receiving the utmost care and quality early learning education possible.  We make every effort to reduce the challenges families may have in recognizing, obtaining, and executing additional services young children may benefit from.

Trauma Informed Center

As a Trauma Informed Center, each staff member has taken a five-hour course on identifying trauma in young children.  Our center director has graduated from a 45-hour course in pediatric trauma causes and symptoms and has transferred much of her knowledge to her cohorts during a series of staff meetings. The outcome of this training has given new insight into separation anxiety, sensory issues, and signs of childhood trauma.

Igniting young children’s imagination on their journey to educational excellence.
